Each sampler flat will contain eight plants each (two jumbo 4-packs) of four varieties of the old-fashioned annual flowers below, for a total of 32 plants per flat. A half flat will contain one 4-pack of four different varieties, for a total of sixteen plants.

Carnation 'Dwarf Fragrance Mix' is the best carnation for growing in flower beds. Its sturdy, ~15 inch stems are long enough to cut, and the plant has a bushy habit and pretty, silvery-green foliage. Poppy 'Double Shirley' is a real stunner, growing 2-3 feet tall and producing many marvelous, large poppies with petals like crinkled silk. The shimmery blossoms come in a range of reds, pinks, and apricots.
Dark Blue Statice is one of the most rewarding plants that a gardener can grow for winter drying. Cut the stems as flowers open, bind into bunches, and hang to dry in a cool, dark room. Aster 'Florette Mix' is a superb variety with large, unusual flowers on sturdy stems. It's striking in the border, and makes a sensational, long-lasting cut flower.

Gaillardia 'Sundance Bicolor' covers itself with delightful pom-pom flowers from Spring through fall. Petals are a bronze-red with golden tips. It's easy to grow, and does well in containers or beds.

Nicotiana is a favorite with gardeners due to its elegant, star-shaped, tubular flowers and sweet fragrance. Plant in full, hot sun for fast and luscious growth. It's self cleaning and adds beautiful height to your plantings.

Strawflower 'King Mix' produces dozens of prickly, papery flowers that kids love. Dry them for winter by picking the blooms before they are fully opened. This variety has been selected for extra-large flowers.

Campanula 'Double Canterbury Bells Mix' has sculptural, bell-shaped flowers in rich blue, pretty pink, and bright white. It has an English cottage garden feel, and is a great re-seeder.
Cleome is a garden favorite that blooms profusely all summer, and has gorgeous leaves and pretty flowers. It grows 3-4' tall, making it an excellent centerpiece in flowerbeds or large containers. Gazanias are wonderful summer flowers. They bloom incessantly, and the daisy-like blossoms come in a range of vibrant, shimmery colors. This variety, 'Talent Mix' has lovely silver foliage. Gazanias need heat; the buds won't open when it's very cool or shady.
Phlox 'Petticoat Mix' is a unique extra compact type, with a height of about 6". Its star-shaped flowers are sweet and charming, and it does very well in containers. It's heat and drought resistant with a very long flowering period. Salpiglossis 'Painted Tongue Mix' is a real garden star. Neighbors and friends are sure to comment on the surprising color combinations of its large, showy flowers. They bloom late spring through summer and do best in full sun.
Gypsophilia white is a classic bouquet flower because its dainty bloosoms are a perfect foil to larger, more colorful flowers. It also makes a great compliment to larger flowers in your beds, and will rebloom after cutting.
